CURRICULUM VITAE DE DENIS CARATY.
Denis CARATY
* Né en 1956 à Millançay -
FRANCE
* 1972 à 1977 :
Étudie la Céramique industrielle à l'école
nationale d'enseignement professionnel
" Henri BRISSON " de Vierzon.*
Exerce depuis 1978 dans une importante
manufacture des Arts de la Table comme
responsable technique chargé de la recherche
et du développement.
* 1999 :
Son ami Edouard Bastarache, Céramiste au Québec,
lui fait rencontrer Chatt McGonagill, un Céramiste
américain du Mississippi spécialisé dans les grands
cristaux. Une étroite collaboration s'établit, des
travaux sur les glaçures cristallines sont menés
conjointement via Internet.
* 2000 : Construction d'un four électrique
spécialement équipé pour permettre les
"cristallisations sur porcelaine". C'est le début de
la production de Grands Cristaux dans son atelier de
St-Martin-sur-Ocre. La grande variété des glaçures
cristallines est une voie de recherche infinie et
passionante. L'univers coloré et harmonieux des
grands cristaux devient son passe-temps Céramique
favori.
* 2002,
les fruits de cette recherche sont abondants et les
effets obtenus sont spectaculaires. Il décide alors
d'exposer et de montrer ses travaux au public.
Denis a été nommé "Chevalier" par le Ministère des
Arts et de la Litérature de France au printemps dernier :

School of Professional Teaching "Henri BRISSON"
in Vierzon.
* Has been working since 1978 for an important
manufacture of the « Arts of the Table » as the
technical person in charge of research and development.
* 1999 :
His friend Edouard Bastarache, Ceramist in Quebec,
introduces him to Chatt McGonagill, an American
Ceramist in Mississippi specialized in large crystals.
A close cooperation is established, works on crystalline
glazes are carried out jointly via the Internet.
* 2000:
Construction of an electric kiln especially equipped to
allow "crystallizations on porcelain". It is the beginning
of the production of Large Crystals in his St-Martin-sur-
Ocre workshop. The large variety of crystalline glazes
is a field of infinite and passionante research. The coloured
and harmonious universe of the large crystals becomes
his favorite ceramic hobby.
* 2002,
the results of this research are abundant and the effects
obtained are spectacular. He then decides to show his
work to the public. Denis was nominated "Knight" by
the French Ministry of the Arts and Literature last spring :
